Action and Support

An open letter to the gaming community from NSG CEO, John Fazio

I wanted to write something sooner, but I didn’t want to take a horrible tragedy and make it about my feelings. In fact, I want to get straight to the point and talk about the two things that I think matter the most right now: action and support. Now, more than ever, it’s time that the Madden community and the gaming community at large show what it means when we say we’re “close”, “tight-knit”, and “family”.

First and foremost, we will be working with Dubby to produce a charity stream this Saturday at GEXCon where the next Madden qualifier was to be held. Dubby and friends will be donating all proceeds to Taylor and Elijah’s GoFundMe. We want to make sure this isn’t a one-off event, so we’re looking at ways that we can continue driving donations over the next year to support the families of those we lost this weekend.

Second, while we focus supporting those who were affected, we’re also devoting extra resources to re-examine not just our security, but also the atmosphere we create at our competitive events. We will be upgrading our building security on permanent venues as well as the security forces deployed at our third party hosted events. Our mission is to provide a safe environment for competitive gamers, spectators, and staff. We will not let one incident stop us from doing what we love, gaming with friends.

Please support us this weekend by watching Dubby’s stream, by coming to GEXCon, or by donating to the Go Fund Me link posted below. Let’s show the world how strong our community is.

Sincerely,

John Fazio
