Like Before, but Better
If you’ve been to even one of the Elite Smash Fridays, our weekly Smash Ultimate tournament, then you know they’re on their own level. Well, they’re about to level up!
With Smashdown, we’re setting the prize pool at a whopping $2,500, while still keeping entry cost low to you. For only $15, you can pit your skills against some of the best Smash players in the Rocky Mountain Region. You can even bring a friend, and, for a couple bucks more get in on the doubles action.
Plus, as a Minor event in our National Championship Series™, you’ll have a chance to earn valuable NCS Points.
What is an NCS Point?
NCS Points are earned by competing in tournaments that are part of the National Championship Series™ (NCS). In short, the NCS is a series of events meant to showcase your talent at a national level. Points are earned when you place near the top of the competition pool, but tournaments at the Academy and Minor level will also award you points for participation.
Think of it as our way of rewarding you for competing week after week and grinding your way through the competition. Ultimately, NCS points contribute toward your rank on the NCS ladder and might even earn you an invitation to a Grand Final!
Be a Better Gamer
One of our core missions is to encourage gamers to enter face-to-face competitions. We believe firmly that playing in tournaments not only lifts your game, but it also breaks down barriers.
When you come down to Smashdown on Saturday, you’ll be surrounded with talented players who are all bringing their A game. But you’ll also sit down and compete with members of a community who know how to win with dignity, lose gracefully, and simply have a good time.
