Localhost Lowdown: March 2019
by Olivia Schaller--Updated
Every month, we give you the lowdown on some of the best events and tournaments coming to Localhost Arena in both Philly and Denver. From bootcamps to big prize pots, check out what’s happening in March.
Localhost Arena Philly
Big Things
This, you don’t want to miss. On Friday, March 8th at the Wells Fargo Center, we’re putting on the Wings Fortnite Championship. It boasts a $1,000 prize pot, plus your registration includes a ticket to the Wings v Buffalo game! Sign up and drop in–we hear Stoney the Party Llama will be making a guest appearance.
Also happening in March at Localhost Philly is the monthly Go For Broke event. If you haven’t made it down for this muli-title FGC tournament, now is the perfect month to try it out. Each game title will be granted a guaranteed fixed prize pot of $500!
Recurring
We’re keeping the tournaments rolling throughout March, hosting tried-and-true events plus adding a little bit of flair with something new. There are two bootcamps this month, one for CS:GO and one for Overwatch, that will help you sharpen your edge. The CS:GO Bootcamp takes place on March 2nd, and our bootcamp for Overwatch is on March 9th.
Also going down in Philly are the usual suspects: Smash City, FGC Training Grounds, Rocket League, and Hearthstone Fireside Gatherings. Make sure to check Lobby.gg regularly for updates to these recurring events.
New
If you’re anything like us, then you can’t get enough of EA’s newest drop, Apex: Legends. Some of our team recently spent an entire evening just zip-lining up and sliding back down the same hill–yeah, we’re professional like that.
But if you want to do more than just zip-and-slide, then you need to register for Localhost Philly’s very first Apex tournament, Apex: Legends Survival. Come down and pay for PC time, and you’re automatically entered into the tournament and your shot at a guaranteed $250 prize pot!
Community
Amid all the tournaments and bootcamps, sometimes we just like to sit back and kick it with the community. This month, we’re hosting Meetups for League of Legends (March 15th) and The Philadelphia Community Meetup — powered by Twitch (March 23rd). Stop in to Localhost and chill with your friends, or meet N3rds like us!
Localhost Arena Denver
Big Things
Check it out: we’re hosting not one, but TWO NCS Minor tournaments this month. We’re putting up extra cash for our CS:GO NCS Minor (March 23rd) and our Fortnite NCS Minor (March 30th). Both events boast a $2,500 prize pot and NCS points.
The next National Championship Series CS:GO Minor is on March 23rd at @LocalhostDenver!

Recurring
If you’re even remotely interested in competing in the CS:GO NCS Minor mentioned above, then you should seriously consider registering for our March CS:GO Bootcamp. Your registration includes entry to the bootcamp and 12 hours of play time at Localhost Arena Denver
On top of the bootcamp, we’re bringing back the regulars. Every Friday in March, you’ll see tournaments for both Fortnite and Smash Ultimate. Plus, there are bi-weekly Rocket League events and Hearthstone Fireside Gatherings. Check out Lobby.gg for recurring event details.
New
Denver’s getting in on the Apex action with Apex: Legends Find Your Path. Swing by Localhost Arena Denver for your shot at a guaranteed $500 prize pot! Pay for eight hours of game time, and you’ll automatically be entered into the tournament. We’re pretty sure you’re there to play Apex anyway, so why not join the competition?
Community
Fostering a strong and vibrant female community is very important to us, so on March 13th, we’re hosting a Ladies Night at Localhost Arena Denver. Between 6pm and 12am, all women are invited to play for free!
Outside and Online
Beyond our Localhost Arenas, we also have a couple of online events and one outside event. Check ‘em out!
- PUBG: Hail the Pan (online)
- Chronosphere Cup, an Artifact tournament (online)
- UWatch Overwatch Tournament (Boston)
