September 17, 2019 – The biggest names in college esports, and thousands of devoted fans, are set to descend on Harrisburg University this week for the Harrisburg University Esports Invitational, which will pit over 60 teams against one another for cash prizes in three separate tournaments.

Nerd Street Gamers, the national network of esports facilities and events dedicated to powering competitive opportunities for gamers, will be there to power the HUE Invitational, with over 200 professional esports gaming stations for competitors to play on. Nerd Street Gamers will also manage the event logistics and direct the broadcast of the semifinals and finals of the tournament.

“With college esports on the rise, competitive integrity through powerful equipment and organized tournament logistics is of the utmost importance,” said John Fazio, Founder and CEO of Nerd Street Gamers. “We are honored to partner with Harrisburg University and provide the infrastructure for one of the largest collegiate tournaments in the United States.”

The action will all take place at Harrisburg University, concluding with the final rounds of the tournament being held at the nearby Sunoco Theater. Competitors will face off for cash prizes in one of three parallel tournaments in which players will challenge each other in either Overwatch, League of Legends, or Hearthstone.

“The HUE Invitational is really no different than traditional collegiate sporting events,” continued Fazio. “Competitors get the opportunity to showcase skills that can take them to the next level, and colleges use the results to recruit future talent and prove why they deserve to be invited to future tournaments and invitationals.”
