Here are the 10 coolest skins in Fortnite

by Jessica Scharnagle

Skins are one of the most desired items in Fortnite. Skin collecting is a very popular pursuit in many games, and it gives players a chance to show off their personalities. This is especially true in Fortnite, where players can see their character and their enemies up close, which means that the skin they are wearing is on full display.

Wearing certain skins can be status indicators. In some instances, a skin can show the account’s age if the player is donning one that was released early on but is no longer available. It can also be a badge of honor if the skin was locked behind a battle pass that forced a player to either cough up a lot of money or grind for a skin in the upper levels of the pass.

Pro Game Guides has a comprehensive gallery of skins, and as of February 2021, there are 946 of them. Here are 10 of the coolest skins you can get in Fortnite based on rarity, popularity and art style.

John Wick

Everyone loves Keanu Reeves, and so it’s no surprise that John Wick is one of the best and most popular Fortnite skins out there. The skin was introduced into the game with a limited-time event in 2019. It was purchasable for 2,000 V-Bucks in the game shop and included two variants, Default and Damaged.

Brite Bomber

This skin makes the list mostly because it is now a very old skin. This outfit was added to the battle royale during the first season. The colorful and fun skin can be purchased for 1,200 V-Bucks in the game’s item shop, and it can often be found there.

Astro Jack

The Astro Jack skin is from the Icon Series Travis Scott set. It was released April 22, 2020, and hasn’t been in the shop since then. While the shop rotates its stock regularly, there’s no telling when this astronaut-themed skin will return.

Lynx

Lynx was available as a legendary skin in the Lynx set during the Season 7 Battle Pass. What makes this a cool skin is the tiers. The skin evolves into different, awesome colors at higher tiers and ultimately ends as a black cat costume that is highly desirable among Fortnite players. Getting this skin might be tough. It was last seen in February 2019.

Raven

The dark, ominous style skins are always popular in games where skins are a big part of the game, and Raven is no exception. This skin was added along with the Ravage skin as part of the Nevermore set. It was released in 2018 but was recently seen in the store again. When it’s available, players can purchase the skin for 2,000 V-Bucks.

Midas

A skin that turns the character into gold? How much cooler can a skin get? This legendary skin was released in Season 12 and was only unlocked after getting all 100 levels in the battle pass. Midas even has a reactive feature in which he turns any weapon or vehicle gold.

Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn is a fan favorite from the DC universe. Her skin features her iconic pink and blue hair and her “Lil Monster” shirt, so it’s no wonder that the skin is a favorite among players. The skin can be purchased when it is rotated into the item shop. To obtain the Always Fantablulous style, players will have to achieve certain milestones.

Ghoul Trooper

No matter how cool a new skin is when it’s added to the game, sometimes it’s hard to beat the classics, especially when there’s a twist added. This Ghoul Trooper skin is a zombified version of the classic Trooper skin and has been available around Halloween every year since its introduction in 2017.

Valkyrie

Valkyrie is a Legendary skin from the Harbringer set. She was released in September 2018, and is the female version of Ragnarok. She has the same frozen viking vibe that Ragnarok does, with warm fur, metal armor and a skull resting on her hip. According to Pro Game Guides, she’s in the store every 100 days or so and is set to be in the store again next month. She also has a molten skin that is from the Lava Series, which can also be found in the Item Shop from time to time.

Black Knight

There are no shortage of gamers who have played fantasy RPGs that often have a slew of different knights, and the Black Knight skin is reminiscent of those games. With glaring red eyes through his face shield, the Black Knight is seriously ominous, and seriously cool. This skin came about in Season 2 and was unlockable at Tier 70. Unfortunately, the skin hasn’t been seen since February 2018, which is unfortunate because the shield on his back is pretty awesome and really brings the look together.
