FlyQuest unveils eco-friendly apparel on Earth Day

by Sage Datuin

To celebrate Earth Day, FlyQuest has announced its latest merch drop as the org looks to continue building upon its efforts to spread awareness around sustainable, eco-friendly practices.

Although FlyQuest’s spring split has come to a close, the org’s commitment toward raising awareness for protecting the environment has not.

Previous FlyQuest mascots such as Cardi (BeeQuest), Kurt (SeaQuest), Chonccy (TreeQuest) and Sunny (SunnyQuest) will join the current mascot Midori in the Earth Day merch drop. The mascots will be featured across a collection of various eco-friendly gear including reusable stainless steel water bottles, a new canvas tote bag, crop top and T-shirt.

Guided by FlyQuest’s lead designer Phien Le, the Earth Day drop was created by FlyQuest intern Tarra Quiambao who was given the opportunity to showcase her creativity in this new line.

“With the wonderful direction and guidance of Phien Le, we were able to create this new line just in time for Earth Day! I was inspired by traditional Japanese landscape paintings as they are the essence of nature with its graceful flow,” Quiambao said in a press release. “By creating a scene with Midori and friends planting a tree, it represents our #GoGreen initiative of giving back to Earth but also the care of nurturing and growth within ourselves and how we can showcase greatness.”

FlyQuest has become well-known for its continued commitment to giving back to the environment through its #GoGreen initiative. Over the course of the spring split and playoffs, FlyQuest planted over 10,000 trees through the TreeQuest initiative.

Although FlyQuest are not playing in the LCS spring split finals, the org will be a part of the fan experience in Houston. The org will sell its latest eco-friendly apparel such as their various 2022 jerseys and items from their 2022 spring collection, and Mastercard holders will be able to receive free customizations for items through a QR code system.

FlyQuest fans will also be treated to a number of extra bonuses both before and during the finals in Houston. Fans will have an opportunity to win their own Earth Day gear during the LCS finals weekend. FlyQuest fans can do this by following FlyQuest and posting their eco-friendly actions on Earth Day.

Furthermore, FlyQuest will also feature a Flower Wall near their booth, where there will be an Ahri cosplayer present for fans to take pictures with.

LCS finals weekend will take place at NRG Stadium in Houston this Saturday and Sunday. Team Liquid will face off against Evil Geniuses on Saturday for a spot in the grand final against 100 Thieves. The winner of Sunday’s grand final will be crowned the LCS 2022 spring playoffs champions and represent North America on the international stage at the Midseason Invitational in Busan, South Korea in May.
