The Cheeseadelphia 2024 circuit concluded with the Cheeseadelphia Grand Finals LAN that took place at Localhost Philly. Joseph "Future" Stanish, a renowned Terran vs. Terran player, won the StarCraft II tournament with a 4-1 result in the best-of-seven grand finals.
The 16-player tournament began with five rounds of Swiss competition. The top eight players after five rounds of competition advanced to the eight-player single elimination bracket stage. Future had a perfect 5-0 Swiss stage and then won his quarterfinal 3-0 and semifinal 3-0. The only game he dropped was the initial finals game against Christoper "jheffe" Hefferon, before he bounced back to win the next four.
Future along with Paul "Dolan" Dolan were the two players who automatically qualified for the Cheeseadelphia Grand Final via their performances at Cheeseadelphia LAN tournaments earlier this year. Future won the Cheeseadelphia Spring LAN, while Dolan won the Summer LAN.
Future is a veteran of the Cheeseadelphia tournament circuit having debuted in 2017 at Cheeseadelphia 4. He has competed at multiple other iterations of the tournament. Besides winning the Cheese Spring LAN and Grand Finals this year, he also won Cheeseadelphia 8 in 2018. Some of his other noteworthy results include a top four finish at the ESL StarCraft II Masters Americas event this spring, a third-place finish at the PSISTORM Cup in 2022, and top four finishes at both Dreamhack StarCraft II Masters North America events in summer and winter 2020.
Other notable competitors at the Cheeseadelphia Grand Finals included Adam "Creature" Block, Holden "Holden" Clark, Robbie "Rob" Plata, Caleb "CalebAracous" Jones and John "starkiller" Puchalski. Zen was a surprise top four finisher. In his LAN debut, he took down Creature in the quarterfinals before losing a close semifinal to jheffe.
