Lakewood League, one of the most popular local tournaments at Localhost Denver, celebrated its 10th edition last month. Twelve teams came out to compete in Lakewood League X last month, including college teams from the University of Colorado Boulder, Colorado State, University of Colorado Colorado Springs and Colorado School of Mines. There was even a team from Valhallan Esports, another local LAN center in Colorado, that came to Localhost to compete.

Valhallan went 5-0 in group play and made it all the way to the final of the playoff bracket. However, it was a team called SHAW, which also went 5-0 in groups, who won the tournament. The winners got mini Summoner’s Cup trophies as part of their prize, a fitting tie-in to the League of Legends World Championship which takes place this month and where teams will be competing to hoist the Summoner’s Cup.

The next edition of the tournament, Lakewood League XI, is scheduled to take place in November.

Over 50 people showed up to watch or compete in the first Beyblade X event at Localhost Denver last month. The event was so popular it has generated interest in more Beyblade events in Denver including one coming up this weekend, Rocky Mountain X-treme, hosted by the Rocky Mountain Beyblade Association.

Philly Bladers also had a BeyBlade X meetup last month at Localhost Philadelphia, which featured a community swap market and casual matches and which built hype for a monthly at the end of September. The Philly Beyblade Monthly brought Bladers from around the tri-state area, including New Jersey, Delaware and as far as New York, to Broad St. Localhost has become a hotspot for the Beyblade X community in the Philadelphia area and beyond!

Localhost Philly kicked off September with a fun partnership to celebrate the release of NBA 2K26. Partnering with MIAI+, Microsoft and NBA 2K, Localhost Philly hosted the Score More with Xbox Ballers 2K26 Creators Invitational featuring eight content creators from around the world in a single-elimination tournament to crown the 2025 Xbox Ballers champion.

Featuring today’s NBA superstars, fan-favorite league veterans and the legends of yesteryear, the Xbox Ballers tournament was contested with each creator choosing one franchise’s all-time roster. The finals saw Vladd Wavy take home the crown in dominant fashion as he brought the all-time Los Angeles Lakers to victory over UncleCaino and the all-time Indiana Pacers, reminiscent of the 2000 NBA Finals where Shaq and Kobe went up against Reggie Miller.

Other Happenings at Localhost

The Localhost Youth League, featuring competition in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, kicked off last month in Philly. The youth league formerly known as the Nerd Street Youth League (NSYL) includes teams from high schools, recreation centers and library branches offering teen programs with the Free Library of Philadelphia being a major partner in the league.

The season kicked off in early September with a training session where Free Library staff from branches around the city joined us at Localhost to learn about this season’s structure, how to create lobbies, run matches, report scores and track standings through the live leaderboard. Week 1 of the league took place later in the month with online competition continuing throughout the fall and two LANs scheduled for later this season at Localhost.

September 30 marked the start of Localhost Philly’s Quest Nights campaign in partnership with Dungeons and Dragons: The Twenty-Sided Tavern and Ensemble Arts Philly. Guests who attended Tabletop Tuesday nights at Localhost were entered to win a pair of tickets to the October 10 premiere of the theater production at the Miller Theater.
