Philadelphia Fusion and N3rd Street Gamers Present: The Fusion Showcase

The First-Ever Amateur Overwatch Tournament in Philadelphia Officially Licensed by Blizzard Entertainment Will Debut at TooManyGames on June 22-24

PHILADELPHIA – June 11, 2018 – The Philadelphia Fusion professional Overwatch League team is partnering with N3rd Street Gamers to offer an unprecedented opportunity for local players to experience a true competitive gaming environment. The inaugural Fusion Showcase tournament will debut at the upcoming TooManyGames convention at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center June 22-24. The Fusion Showcase is the first amateur Overwatch tournament in Philadelphia officially licensed by the game’s creator, Blizzard Entertainment.

The Fusion Showcase tournament features a $5,000 prize pool, has room for up to 32 teams, and is open to all players that are not actively competing in Contender League or Overwatch League. The Philadelphia Fusion and N3rd Street Gamers partnership combines the strength of the city’s first professional esports team with the region’s foremost gaming network. The Fusion Showcase competition will be carefully watched by the coaching staff of Fusion University Contender League staff and other league scouts. The tournament also furthers N3rd Street Gamers’ mission of lowering the barrier of entry to competitive play for esports athletes, and building the next wave of up and coming esports talent.

Overwatch is a team-based, first-person survival game where a player selects a “hero” with a unique style of play, and then works with teammates to secure and defend points on a map, or escort a payload. Overwatch is Activision Blizzard’s fastest game to reach 35 million players worldwide.
