Announcing the #PHILLYESPORTS Charity Stream

by Olivia Schaller--Updated

N3rd Street Gamers has been a champion of amateur competitive esports since early 2015. While the tournaments we stage at Localhost serve our local community, they also entice the nation. From Fragadelphia, North America’s largest amateur CSGO LAN, and Cheeseadelphia, North America’s largest amateur StarCraft 2 LAN, to the internationally recognized Gwent tournament, WildHunt, we provide the venue and equipment necessary for aspiring esports athletes to hone their skills in a variety of high-profile contests. And today, we’re excited to be able to leverage the collective power of Philadelphia’s esports community to benefit local charities that exemplify the same tireless engagement on which we’ve built our reputation.

We are extremely proud to announce the inaugural #Phillyesports Charity Stream.

The team at N3rd Street Gamers is partnering with the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation and Philadelphia Union Foundation to bring you the first of many charity streaming events showcasing some of the nation’s top esports competitors. Featuring players from Team Dignitas, Fusion University, Philadelphia Union, and two of N3rd Street Gamers’ own, the #Phillyesports Charity Stream will kick off on Monday, August 13th and run until Friday, August 24th.

Players from Team Dignitas, Fusion University, and N3rd Street Gamers will be streaming in support of The Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Philadelphia. Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation works closely with the local community running after school programs, day programs, and summer camps that teach life skills through the sport of hockey. Players from Team Dignitas and Fusion University will bring new and lasting attention to all the work produced by the Snider Foundation.

Philadelphia Union’s gamer, Doolsta, will be streaming in support of the Philadelphia Union Foundation. The Philadelphia Union Foundation uses soccer as a conduit for change by reinforcing character values of integrity, effort, accountability, and pride.

Team Dignitas, which boasts one of the most iconic and recognizable brands in the professional gaming industry, offers a premier opportunity to raise the profile of the organizations benefiting from the #Phillyesports Charity Stream. Similarly, Fusion University, the top-ranked academy team for the Philadelphia Fusion in Overwatch Contenders, could potentially bring thousands of new eyes to The Snider Foundation.

All players will be streaming on their own Twitch channels, so you only have to log in and donate. Make sure to use the hashtag #phillyesports when you’re spreading the word on social media. With your help, we keep the Philadelphia community strong.
