Nerd Street Gamers Teams Up With Philadelphia Wings For Esports Night Featuring Fortnite With $1,000 Prize

Second Annual Tournament To Take Place During Esports Night on February 22 at Localhost Wells Fargo Center
February 11, 2020 – As the Philadelphia Wings battle it out on turf against the Saskatchewan Rush during Esports Night on Saturday, February 22 at 7 p.m., gaming enthusiasts can compete in Fortnite for a chance to win the $1,000 prize pot at Localhost Wells Fargo Center during the second annual Wings Esports Night powered by Nerd Street Gamers.
For just $25, fans can score a ticket to the Wings game and a single entry into the tournament. First place will take home the grand prize of $1,000. The tournament will begin at 5:30 p.m. and run through halftime at Localhost Wells Fargo Center, located in the East Food Hall & Bar. Longtime producer of WMMR’s Preston & Steve show Marisa Magnatta will be on-hand to host the tournament and interact with fans. For more details and to enter the tournament, visit nsg.gg/wings.
Utilizing the Bounty system, players will play a total of 3 games. Scores will be taken from each game and added to their total points. Player with the highest score at the conclusion of the tournament will be crowned champion. Most eliminations will break the tie. Peripherals (mice, mousepad, keyboards, and headsets) are provided along with Xbox and Playstation controllers. Players are not permitted to bring their own peripherals or controllers.
The second annual Fortnite tournament is part of Esports Night powered by Nerd Street Gamers. Throughout the night, fans will experience a variety of Fortnite-themed in-game promotions, photo opportunities, and other fun surprises.
The Wings are now 5-3 on the season and resume their schedule with a back-to-back road set on February 15 in Buffalo and February 16 in New England. The next home game is on Saturday, February 22 at 7 p.m. when they host Saskatchewan on Esports Night at the Wells Fargo Center.
