Localhost Los Angeles: It’s larger than five NBA courts, with room for hundreds of gamers, and open to everyone
FEBRUARY 12, 2020 – Consider the bar raised. Nerd Street Gamers, the national esports infrastructure company dedicated to powering competitive opportunities for gamers, will build the largest public esports arena on the West Coast. Localhost Los Angeles marks a new era in Los Angeles esports, giving pro and amateur esports athletes alike the chance to play on the same cutting edge gaming equipment relied on by professional gamers.
“This is going to be an iconic gathering place for the entire community – pro gamers, amateur competitors, and people that just want to have a blast with their friends,” said John Fazio, Founder and CEO of Nerd Street Gamers. “Los Angeles is the cultural capital of the gaming industry. This facility sets a new standard for public esports facilities, and matches the scale of the passion and the community.”

At 26,000 square-feet, Localhost Los Angeles is the size of 5.5 NBA basketball courts. The arena will be stocked with 375 high-performance gaming PCs and consoles, along with options for refreshments, high performance gaming accessories, and apparel. It will be able to host 120 teams during tournaments, with capacity for hundreds of spectators. Localhost Los Angeles is slated for a summer 2020 grand opening.
Localhosts are public esports arenas that use the same high-powered computers that professional gamers use in major tournaments to foster a fun, social environment for players of all skill levels to come together, play their favorite games, and compete with friends and other gamers. Managed under Nerd Street Gamers, they are used by numerous high school and college esports teams for competitions.
Leading the design of Localhost Los Angeles and future Localhost facilities is Populous, the global architecture firm specializing in sports facilities and arenas, whose groundbreaking design acumen has turned toward esports with stunning success.
The announcement of Localhost Los Angeles comes on the heels of Nerd Street Gamers’ plan to build over 100 Localhosts over the next five years including regional flagships, facilities adjacent to Five Below stores, and esports venues on university campuses.
