Nerd Street Gamers To Virtually Power Third Annual Harrisburg University Esports (HUE) Invitational

Partnership continues with largest collegiate esports tournament in North America, taking place all-online this year
PHILADELPHIA – SEPTEMBER 14, 2020 – Nerd Street Gamers, the national network of esports facilities and events dedicated to powering competitive opportunities for gamers, announced today it will power the third annual Harrisburg University Esports (HUE) Invitational, the largest collegiate esports tournament in North America, this year September 19 – 20. Due to the ongoing pandemic and safety of student athletes, this year’s HUE Invitational will be conducted virtually for the first time ever.
Nerd Street Gamers will manage event logistics and direct the broadcast of the pool play, semifinals and finals of the tournament. As the first HUE Invitational to be fully conducted online, Nerd Street Gamers’ expertise in esports production and management will ensure competitive integrity over the two-day virtual tournament.
“As many live sporting events have been postponed due to COVID-19, we’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Harrisburg University and power the largest collegiate esports tournament virtually this year,” said John Fazio, Founder and CEO of Nerd Street Gamers. “Nerd Street Gamers is committed to strengthening the esports talent pipeline by supporting the development of gamers at any skill level through various opportunities such as this tournament. Year after year, the number of participating teams and players increases, showcasing the continued growth of esports among youth.”
The tournament will consist of over 70 collegiate teams competing in either League of Legends or Overwatch games. This year’s teams will compete for a prize pool of $20,000 and a physical trophy.

Fans can tune in September 19 starting at 9AM ET for either the League of Legends or Overwatch competition via Twitch. Finals will be held on Sunday, September 20.
