What to watch for this weekend in esports

Don’t know what to watch this weekend? We’ve got you covered. Here’s a rundown of some of the most intriguing games and tournaments happening this weekend.
League of Legends
The LCS Lock In tournament is down to the final four. Cloud9 is taking on 100 Thieves on Friday, and Team Liquid goes up against Evil Geniuses on Saturday. The two finalists will face off Sunday.

VALORANT
The VALORANT Champions Tour kicked off this week with 128 teams competing in the first round of open qualifiers, known as VALORANT Challengers and organized by Nerd Street Gamers. The top eight teams competing this weekend — NRG, Gen.G, Team Envy, Luminosity Gaming, XSET, Immortals, Andbox and Sentinels — have advanced to the closed qualifier next weekend but are competing for seeding over the next couple days.

Super Smash Bros. Melee
Valhalla Online, the first tournament in SmashEurope’s SAME 2021 competitive Melee circuit, takes place this weekend. Rocket League
The third regional event in the RLCS Season X North American winter split concludes this weekend. Since this event is in collaboration with the X Games, the winners will receive X Games medals in addition to prize money. This is the third of three winter regional events, and after winning the first two, Team Envy is looking for a sweep.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
Cs_summit7 wraps up this weekend. Mousesports have advanced to the semifinals, but the other three quarterfinal matches take place Saturday. Both the semifinals and final are on Sunday.
