Nerd Street Expands East Coast Presence with First Localhost Esports and Gaming Facility in New Jersey

PHILADELPHIA, October 4, 2021– Nerd Street Gamers, the national esports infrastructure company, announced today the opening of its first Localhost esports and gaming center in New Jersey.
The Grand Opening for Localhost North Brunswick is taking place this Saturday, October 9 at 11:00 a.m. EST, and will include free gameplay to the first 100 customers, giveaways, and an influencer meet and greet .
At approximately 2,629 square feet, Localhost North Brunswick will include professional-grade gaming computers and consoles plus high-performance gaming accessories, along with options for refreshments and apparel from the adjacent Five Below store. Visitors will have the choice to play on 44 PCs, six consoles, and two polycades.
Localhost North Brunswick will be connected to a Five Below store, as part of Nerd Street’s ongoing partnership with the teen-focused retailer, and will provide opportunities for gamers of all ages and skill levels to participate in esports tournaments, camps, team training, private events like birthday parties, and hourly play for a wide variety of video games. This announcement comes on the heels of the inception of Nerd Street’s partnership with Five Below following the retailer’s investment in the company’s Series A round in 2020.

As Nerd Street continues to expand, the company is anticipating the opening of the world’s first esports industry campus, “The Block,” which includes its corporate headquarters and a Localhost facility, later this fall. Localhost North Brunswick will host its first on-site tournament, CSGO LAN of Winter Champs, on October 30 with a prize pot of $2,500.
Localhost North Brunswick will serve to further increase the company’s East Coast footprint and connect more communities to the technology needed for both gaming and STEAM learning opportunities. With the region rapidly becoming a true esports hub and more universities providing scholarship offerings to esports athletes, access to this technology is about more than just gaming.
