Don’t know what to watch this weekend? We’ve got you covered. Here’s a rundown of some of the most intriguing games and tournaments happening this weekend.
League of Legends
The Group Stage of MSl ended Tuesday, and up next is the Rumble Stage, which begins Friday. The six teams that qualified are DWG KIA, Royal Never Give Up, MAD Lions, PSG Talon, Cloud9 and Pentanet.GG. The first four teams are not surprising. Things looked bleak for North America’s C9 after starting 1-2, but they made it through after upsetting Korea’s DWG KIA and beating Japan’s DetonatioN FocusMe. Oceania’s Pentanet.GG is definitely the most surprising of the six.
The six will play a double round robin from Friday through Tuesday to determine the four teams that will move on to the best-of-five Knockout Stage. The Rumble Stage kicks off with a banger between DWG KIA and RNG, the two teams considered to be the best at MSI. Cloud9 faces RNG on Friday as well as MAD Lions. C9 will face DWG KIA and PSG Talon on Saturday, and they’ll close out the first round robin against Pentanet on Sunday.

Call of Duty
The Call of Duty League’s Major III kicks off Thursday with two of the best teams from the last year and a half facing off: the Atlanta FaZe and Dallas Empire. It’s the third straight major in which the two teams will see each other in the upper bracket, but it’s the earliest they’ll face off. In previous majors, it wasn’t until the upper bracket final that they met.
The other Thursday upper bracket matchup will be between the Los Angeles Thieves and Florida Mutineers. The Toronto Ultra and New York Subliners will play the winners of these two matchups on Friday, while the losers will drop down to the lower bracket. Can the Ultra win a second straight major? Or will FaZe win their second major of the year? Other than those two teams, Thieves with the new addition of Cuyler “Huke” Garland will be a team to watch. Huke’s old team, the Empire, are another team to keep an eye on.

Rocket League
The RLCS Season X Spring Major for the Europe region takes place this weekend. The 10 best teams in Europe during the spring season are competing for both prize money and circuit points. The 10 have been divided into two groups of five. Group play happens Saturday and the knockout stage takes place Sunday.
The six teams that will be competing for the Season X European Championship next month have already been determined, but the results of the spring major will determine seeding for every team except Team BDS, who are already locked into the top seed. Although BDS have been the best team in Europe throughout Season X, Guild Esports and Team Queso each won a spring regional event and will be looking to make some noise at the major. Team Queso looks to have the tougher draw as they’re in the same group as BDS as well as Team Vitality, the second best team in Europe for Season X based on circuit points.
