Nerd Street Welcomes the Susquehanna Soniqs to The Block

by Nerd Street

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – July 27, 2021 – Nerd Street Gamers, the national esports infrastructure company, welcomes esports team the Susquehanna Soniqs as the first professional esports organization to join its esports campus, The Block. The five-year partnership will allow the Soniqs to create a home within The Block, and train and grow their Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, VALORANT and PUBG teams.

Approximately 40,000 square feet in size, the campus will also feature Nerd Street’s global headquarters, broadcast and content creation studios, Localhost – a 20,000 square foot public esports training facility subject to zoning board approval, and professional team practice centers for local teams and schools.

“Not only are we creating one of the industry’s largest gaming landmarks with The Block, but with the Soniqs joining our campus we’re also expanding Philadelphia’s gaming community to include an extremely talented pro organization,” said Jonathon Oudthone, Vice President of Localhost at Nerd Street Gamers. “With this partnership, we’re elevating our mission of bolstering esports’ competitive integrity while showcasing the synergies and benefits we can create for esports players and organizations as they look to find a home within Localhost facilities across the country.”

The Susquehanna Soniqs will be the first pro organization to take a team-advantage of The Block's amenities. As they move into their nearly 2,900 sq ft home for the next five years, the team will have access to ample, high-quality resources to foster title winning performance. With a private on-site entry, the team will have three large team training rooms equipped with the latest technology, two offices, and three streaming rooms with full production capabilities. Additionally, the team will be allotted a VOD Review & Conference Room as a part of their new homebase.

“Being the first pro organization to partner with Nerd Street and move into The Block campus will take the Soniqs to new levels,” said Darren Moore, Soniqs’ General Manager. “We look forward to The Block serving as the Soniqs’ training hub as we work toward future competitive success.”
