Nerd Street Gamers Announces it’s Newly Developed Amateur Circuit, Nerd Street Champs

PHILADELPHIA – March 2, 2022 – Nerd Street Gamers, the national esports infrastructure company, announced today its newest amateur circuit, Nerd Street Champs, sponsored by MIKE AND IKE® and Mavix Gaming. Beginning this April, competitors of all skill levels will showcase their talents in multiple game titles with the ultimate goal of being named the champion. Nerd Street is excited to offer participants the opportunity to compete online or safely at in-person events, also known as LAN (Local Area Network) tournaments, hosted at their Localhost gaming and esports venues across the country. Nerd Street Champs will offer prize pots ranging from $2,500 for online weekly tournaments to $50,000 for the Grand Finals.

“Creating connected opportunities that originate online and at Localhost facilities is a core tenet of the Nerd Street Championship,'' said Stephen Csikos, Head of Programming at Nerd Street. “Not only will competitors be able to participate in person at qualifying LAN events, but there will be opportunities to qualify through online events as well. We are excited to take the next step in our Championships product by expanding our competition offerings to include Halo Infinite and Madden NFL 22. A new season brings new stories and we at Nerd Street are fired up to see who will rise to champions.”

Nerd Street Champs will feature VALORANT, Apex Legends, Madden NFL 2022, and Halo Infinite. Teams can participate in weekly or monthly competitions starting in April while accruing points to qualify for the Grand Finals at the end of the season. In addition to the point system, players will be able to obtain a qualification to the Grand Finals through Last Chance Qualifiers which will allow players to join in at any time.

By providing both online and in-person competitions, gamers will have the opportunity to choose how they want to experience Nerd Street Champs. LAN events ensure competitive integrity, with all players competing on the same equipment, and allow the community aspect of esports to flourish. All participating Localhost facilities will follow COVID-19 protocol established by the CDC, ensuring the safety of all competitors as a top priority.

To further elevate Nerd Street Champs, the series includes MIKE AND IKE® and Mavix as official circuit sponsors. MIKE AND IKE® has been a founding partner of Nerd Street's competitive circuit since 2019 and will continue to serve as the exclusive non-chocolate candy partner for Nerd Street and Localhost nationwide.
