Top LCS players for fantasy midway through the spring split
by Brian Bencomo
We’re midway through the spring split, how’s your LCS fantasy team doing? Before the split began I wrote up a guide to help draft the best team possible, so halfway through the split I thought it would be a good time to see how things are panning out by looking at the top 10 players overall and the top three at each position. These are all based on the default scoring settings if you play on Sleeper. As a reminder, these are the scoring settings:
Points gained by individual
- Kills: 3
- Deaths: -1
- Assists: 2
- Minions: .01
- Lane solo kill: 1
- First blood: 1
- Compare minions at early game (15 min): 2
Points gained via team objectives
- Soul drake bonus: 3
- First drake kill: 2
- First baron kill: 3
- First turret: 2
- Elder drake kill: 4
Before getting into the top players, here are some general takeaways so far. Bottom laners are dominating the top 10. No surprise there. Bot laners tend to pick up the most kills, so with kills giving so many points, it’s no surprise they dominate the top 10. Though some of the names on there might be a bit surprising.
Second, although Soren “Bjergsen” Bjerg was the No. 1 overall player on Sleeper's default draft board, he is not among the top 10. He’s not that far off though at No. 12. I thought he was a steal when he dropped to me at pick No. 6, but that hasn’t necessarily proven to be the case.
Finally, Cloud9 players are dominating the leaderboards with three players in the top 10 and the top player at three different positions. With that in mind, here are the top 10 players, along with a breakdown of how they’ve accrued their fantasy point totals, followed by the top three players at each position.
Top 10 LCS players for fantasy midway through spring
Hans sama (296.65 points)
Team Liquid, bot laner
Steven “Hans sama” Liv arrived in North America from Europe this split and has delivered. He has accrued 34 kills, which is fifth-best in the league, and has 51 assists, which is second-best among bot laners. He has picked up a whopping five lane solo kills and drawn four first bloods. He also has led his opposing laner in CS at 15 minutes in all but one of nine games. His champion of choice has been Jinx, whom he has picked in five games.
Fudge (289.35 points)
Cloud9, mid laner

Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami doesn’t seem to have lost a step in role-swapping from the top lane to the mid lane. He leads all top laners with 31 kills, and he has 58 assists too, which is the most among mid laners. His best game was on Ryze this past weekend against 100 Thieves when he racked up 59.9 fantasy points. He did it with a whopping 14 assists and several team bonuses from Cloud9 picking up first drake, soul drake, first baron and first turret.
FBI (286.92 points)
100 Thieves, bot laner
Ian Victor “FBI” Huang has continued his success from last year as one of the best bot laners in the league with 31 kills and 58 assists so far. Like Hans sama, FBI has played a lot of Jinx, who has been very much in the meta. FBI also has picked Aphelios quite a bit, the other meta bot lane pick. He has only played two games in which he hasn’t played either Jinx or Aphelios.
Berserker (280.85 points)
Cloud9, bot laner
Kim "Berserker" Min-cheol is another player who has come to North America and dominated. Last year, Berserker played with T1’s amateur team in Korea, T1 Challengers. His best game was against 100 Thieves this past weekend when he played Aphelios and picked up 10 kills and five assists and didn’t die once.
Blaber (268.26 points)
Cloud9, jungler
Another Cloud9 player rounds out the top five, with Robert “Blaber” Huang putting up the best stats among junglers for fantasy. His 65 assists are tied for the most among players who don’t play support. He picked Hecarim for the first time this past weekend and played the champ in three straight games, picking up 36 assists.
Danny (267.74 points)
Evil Geniuses, bot laner

In his second year in the league, Kyle "Danny" Sakamaki has proven that he is one of the best young North American talents. He led the LCS in kills last summer and is once again the league leader with 42 midway through the spring. He has led his opposing laner in CS at 15 minutes in all but two games.
Johnsun (266.77 points)
FlyQuest, bot laner
Johnson "Johnsun" Nguyen is tied for third in the league with 37 kills. He had a couple of 50+ fantasy point games early in the season, but his performance lately mirrors that of his team, FyQuest. Like many of the other bot laners in the league, he has picked Jinx quite a bit. He has played Jinx in six out of nine games, so that is the champion to pick if you have him on your team or ban if you’re facing him.
Ssumday (264.85 points)
100 Thieves, top laner
Kim "Ssumday" Chan-ho has been the best top laner for fantasy purposes this split. He has put up strong stats (33 kills and 43 assists) with a large champion pool. He hasn’t picked any champion more than twice and has played seven different champions this split. If you have Ssumday on your team, it has probably been challenging to correctly pick which champion he’s going to play, but conversely, your opponent has probably had a difficult time correctly banning his champion.

Lost (261.38 points)
Golden Guardians, bot laner
Lawrence "Lost" Sze Yuy Hui is perhaps the most surprising name on this list. Lost and Golden Guardians were afterthoughts heading into the spring split but have both been pleasant surprises. In fact, Lost has the second-most kills of anybody in the league with 38. He has picked Aphelios in five games this split and picked up two 50+ point fantasy games on the champion. When doing research for this piece I did notice that Lost was not on any of my leaguemates’ teams, which speaks to how underrated he has been this season. If I didn’t have Hans sama as my bot laner I would have put a claim on him right away.
Santorin (261.04)
Team Liquid, jungler
Lucas "Santorin" Tao Kilmer Larsen rounds out the top 10 overall as the best jungler in fantasy so far. He has picked up 26 kills and 61 assists. Outside of the first game of the split, he has put up at least 17 fantasy points in every other game. He has had a pretty large champion pool, having used six different champions this split.
